Catching the Train

Published on 7 May 2025 at 17:01

This one was just something that came quick and will probably be revised a time or two. I'm so ready to be done with this life and ready to catch that train to hell.

In shadows deep, I stand,
A solitary figure, unplanned,
Gazing at the distant train,
My heartbeat echoes through the rain.

Its whistle calls, a mournful tune,
A melody that cuts right through the gloom,
Its lights a beacon in the dark,
A vessel to a world beyond the park.

The platform shakes beneath my feet,
As if it knows the secrets I keep,
I board the train with silent grace,
Ready to leave this worldly place.

No more will eyes see my despair,
Nor hear the sorrow in my prayer,
For I seek solace in the night,
Where memories fade like stars out of sight.

So here I am, on this midnight ride,
Leaving behind a life that's died,
To find a peace that's hard to find,
In the endless night, where time unwinds.
